I have been teaching for over thirty years, most of those here in Livingston. Throughout my teaching career, I have always been fascinated with the changing use of technology and its implications for education. I am very excited to be able to provide my students with their own Chrome books so that we can explore how the use of digital tools can help us define and solve problems in our everyday lives.
I have a Masters of Arts degree in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in integrating STEM in the curriculum. In my classroom, students learn skills by tackling inquiry projects which help them develop their own concepts and understanding of their experiences as they learn how to document and communicate what they have learned. It is an exciting process and very active.
As a fifth grade teacher, one of my most important goals is to help prepare students to become more responsible for their own learning. We work very hard on developing the skills of organization and fostering an appreciation of a good work ethic.
I'm very proud of my students, my school and my district for the wonderful opportunities they all give me to learn and grow in my profession.
